Frost Advisory
Statement as of 8:51 am PDT on October 10, 2008

... Frost advisory in effect from 6 am to 9 am PDT Saturday for the Coast
Range of northwest Oregon... central Coast Range of western Oregon...
lower Columbia... greater Portland Metro area... central Willamette
Valley... south Willamette Valley... western Columbia River gorge... Willapa
Hills... I-5 corridor in Cowlitz County... and the Greater Vancouver
area...

The National Weather Service in Portland has issued a frost
advisory... which is in effect from 6 am to 9 am PDT Saturday.

The coldest low temperatures of the early autumn season are
expected across southwest Washington and northwest Oregon this
weekend. The cold minimum temperatures will be the result of a
cold weather system that moved south out of the Gulf of Alaska
into the region.

On Saturday morning minimum temperatures are likely to be in the
lower to mid 30s with upper 20s possible in outlying areas away
from cities. Many locations are expected to see the first frost of
the fall season. Be sure to protect any tender or vulnerable
plants from the near freezing temperatures.

A frost advisory means that frost is possible. Sensitive outdoor
plants may be killed if left uncovered.
