Now Small bands of showers and thunderstorms continue to develop across South Florida and move east to northeast at 30 to 35 mph. The bands will tend to intensify as they move east towards and off the East Coast Metro areas into the Atlantic waters. Brief periods of very heavy rainfall...occasional cloud to ground lightning...and gusty winds up to 45 mph are likely with any of the thunderstorms. The heaviest rains will fall across the Miami Metro area generally north of Homestead to Hialeah...where a quick half inch to inch of rain is possible. |
