Wind Advisory
Statement as of 4:32 am EST on November 8, 2009

... Wind Advisory in effect...

The Wind Advisory remains in effect.

Strong winds will continue over the Keys island chain and
Atlantic coastal waters... with sustained winds of 25 to 30 mph
and peak gusts to 35 to 40 mph. Winds will be strongest on
bridges... as well as on exposed southern and eastern coasts of the
Keys.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 30 to 39 mph... or
frequent gusts in excess of 35 mph are expected. Winds this
strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile
vehicles. Motorists should be alert for sudden gusts of wind...
especially on bridges... which may cause you to lose control of
your vehicle. Use extra caution.

Forecast as of 8:38 am EST on November 8, 2009

Now
Through 945 am...scattered showers will continue moving west at 30 knots across the Florida Straits...beyond 30 nm south of the reef from Sombrero Key light to Dry Tortugas light...and across the reef into Florida Bay and the Gulf waters off the Upper and Middle Keys. The showers will deliver moderate rainfall reducing visibilities to 5 nm or less...and frequent wind gusts of 35 to 40 knots. As Showers Pass over the Upper and Middle Keys...expect brief light rain from Ocean Reef to the east end of 7 mile bridge...with only a trace to one hundredth of an inch of rainfall.
