| Now A large band of showers and thunderstorms will continue to move northeast at 40 mph across portions of the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles through the morning hours. Through 9 am...the band of showers and storms will extend from Hereford northeastward to Beaver Oklahoma. Some localized flooding of low lying areas could occur as the storms continue to move over much of the same areas. Some of the communities to be affected through 9 am include canyon... Amarillo...Borger...Stinnett...Spearman...Perryton...and Beaver Oklahoma. Some storms may be strong with winds gusting to near 40 mph. Otherwise...heavy rainfall will be the primary threat. Rainfall rates of up to one inch per hour will occur with the strongest storms along with dangerous lightning.
