Wind Advisory
Statement as of 2:17 PM PDT on October 10, 2008/

... Wind Advisory remains in effect until 9 PM MDT /8 PM PDT/ this
evening...
... Wind Advisory remains in effect from 12 PM MDT /11 am PDT/ to
9 PM MDT /8 PM PDT/ Saturday...

A Wind Advisory remains in effect for portions of the west central
mountains... the lower Treasure valley... Baker County... and Malheur
County until 9 PM MDT /8 PM PDT/ this evening. A Wind Advisory
remains in effect for the same areas from 12 PM MDT /11 am PDT/
to 9 PM MDT /8 PM PDT/ Saturday.

A strong upper level storm system will impact the region through
Sunday. This system will help create a strong surface low
pressure system over Utah... and a surface high pressure system
over the Pacific northwest. These features will result in an
intense pressure gradient that will be associated with strong
northwest winds through Saturday. These winds will average 25 to 40
mph in the afternoons and evenings... with gusts up to 55 mph. The
strongest winds will occur across Baker County and northern
Malheur counties in southeast Oregon... and in Adams...
Washington... Payette... and canyon counties in southwest Idaho.

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 30 to 40 mph are
expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult...
especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
