... Hot weather expected to return in the central California
interior through early next week...

An upper level ridge of high pressure will bring above normal
temperatures to the central California interior this weekend and
into early next week. High temperatures in the San Joaquin
Valley... the Sierra foothills and the Kern deserts will be in the
98 to 106 degree range Friday through Monday. Even Yosemite
Valley could see highs approach 100 degrees during this period.

Normal temperatures in the valley are in the mid to upper
90s... so we will see temperatures 6 to 10 degrees above normal.
Heat indexes are expected to be similar to the air temperature or
slightly below due to dry air in the valley. This may aggravate some
health conditions... especially for children... the elderly or other
sensitive groups. Take the necessary precautions to deal with the
heat over the next few days.
