Now Through 2 PM EDT (1 PM cdt)...scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop across southeast Alabama...southwest and south central Georgia...and the Florida Panhandle and Big Bend. The best chance for rain will initially be across the Florida Big Bend as the sea breeze front moves inland...but scattered storms will develop elsewhere as well. Any storms that develop will move toward the northeast at 5 to 10 mph east of the Apalachicola and Chattahoochee rivers...and toward the east at 5 to 10 mph west of these rivers. The strongest storms will be capable of producing wind gusts near 30 mph...frequent lightning...very heavy rain...and small hail. Over the coastal waters...the showers and thunderstorms that developed earlier today will continue to diminish. |
