Now Look for an area of showers to affect much of southern Wisconsin south of a line from Lone Rock to near Port Washington. Isolated thunderstorms were embedded in the rain over south central Wisconsin. Winds were gusting to near 40 mph over portions of south central Wisconsin due to the pressure gradient from the complex of showers and thunderstorms. The showers were moving to the east at 35 mph...and should continue to weaken somewhat as they reach more stable air over southeast Wisconsin. The stronger thunderstorms were occurring over northeast Iowa...and far northwest Illinois...but through mid morning these storms should stay south of the Illinois border. These storms were also weakening as they move east. Additional thunderstorms were developing back over northern Iowa...and these may affect southern Wisconsin mainly this afternoon. |
