Freeze Warning
Statement as of 8:21 am PDT on October 10, 2008

... Freeze warning remains in effect from 8 PM this evening to
10 am PDT Saturday...

A freeze warning remains in effect from 8 PM this evening to
10 am PDT Saturday.

Colder air will move into the lower Columbia Basin and the Blue
Mountain foothills of Oregon today and tonight. Under mostly clear
skies and diminishing winds temperatures will drop rapidly
tonight and remain well below freezing for several hours. This
will cause widespread damage to temperature sensitive crops and
plants if they are not protected.

A freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or
highly likely. Those with agricultural interests in the warned
area are advised to harvest or protect tender vegetation. Also...
potted plants normally left outdoors should be covered or brought
inside away from the cold. For additional weather information...
check our web site at www.Weather.Gov/Pendleton.
