Freeze Warning
Statement as of 3:30 PM MDT on October 12, 2008

... Freeze warning in effect from 9 PM this evening to 9 am MDT
Monday...

The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a
freeze warning... which is in effect from 9 PM this evening to
9 am MDT Monday. The freeze watch is no longer in effect.

A dry... cold airmass combined with mostly clear skies and light
winds will result in very cold temperatures across the valleys of
eastern Utah and western Colorado tonight. Though some areas saw
brief... localized freezing temperatures early this morning its
unlikely that a widespread vegetation killing freeze occurred.
However... temperatures tonight are expected to be colder and will
likely drop below 32 degrees in many areas by midnight tonight
sinking into the lower and mid 20s for by sunrise Monday morning.

A freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or
highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other
sensitive vegetation.
