Coastal Flood Statement
Statement as of 9:00 PM CST on November 8, 2009

.A low pressure system in the western Gulf of Mexico will move north
leading to strengthening easterly winds across the Upper Texas
coast. This persistent easterly flow has developed a large fetch of
easterly swells that will run up the beach causing widespread beach
flooding. These winds will serve to further elevate tides across the
area... which were already running one foot above astronomical
values.

The highest tide levels are expected to occur during high tide
tonight and early Monday morning. The main impacts will be beach
beach flooding and possibly other lower lying coastal roads leading
to hazardous travel conditions.
