Statement as of 6:22 am CST on November 8, 2009

.An area of low pressure near the Bay of Campeche is expected to
move north into the western Gulf of Mexico today. This feature
combined with high pressure over Texas will lead to strong easterly
winds over the Upper Texas coastal waters and increased tide levels.
Tides are currently running around one foot above normal and are
forecast to be around 2 feet above normal overnight tonight. The
greatest impact is expected to occur along Gulf facing shores although
some low lying roads along the bays may see some minor flooding.
