Now Tornado Watch 744 in effect until 6 PM CDT this afternoon... Through 6 PM...outer rain bands from the tropical depression have weakened in intensity late this afternoon. The bands will continue to move west northwest around the center of the depression across south central Texas including much of the Texas Hill country and portions of the Edwards Plateau over the next several hours. Expect some heavy rains..low visibilities and wind gusts to 40 mph in some of the heavier shower and thunderstorm bands. Most areas will receive from an additional tenth to a quarter inch of rainfall but 1 to 2 inch rain amounts are possible in the heavier showers and storms. Also keep in mind some of these storms can produce brief tornadoes. |
