Special Weather Statement
Statement as of 3:25 PM CDT on July 9, 2009

... Hot temperatures expected to persist through the weekend...

Hot temperatures can be expected again on Friday and through the
upcoming weekend as strong upper level high pressure has moved
over the Southern Plains. High temperatures each afternoon through
Saturday are expected to be in a range from 100 to 107 degrees and
only cool slightly Sunday and Monday. The hottest temperatures are
mostly likely to occur across the extreme southeastern Panhandle
and the northern rolling plains.

Area residents should limit outdoor activity during the hottest time
of the afternoon and should drink plenty of liquids... especially
water. It is advisable to check on pets and the elderly.
