The National Weather Service in Taunton, MA has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Pawtuxet River at Cranston.
* From this evening to Friday morning... or until the warning is
cancelled.
* At 12:16 PM Thursday the stage was 5.7 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by this evening and continue to
rise to near 9.3 feet this evening. The river will fall below
flood stage by after midnight tonight.
* Impact... at 9.5 feet... parking lots and roads are flooded in low
lying areas of Warwick and Cranston near the Pawtuxet River.
Impacted roads include River Street... Pioneer Avenue... bellows
street and venturi Avenue in Warwick.

* tropical moisture ahead of an approaching cold front continues to
bring numerous showers and thunderstorms to the region. Some
thunderstorms may bring localized heavy downpours of 1 to 3 inches
in one hour. As a result... the threat of flooding still exists.

* Drier... more stable air will begin to work its way eastward into
the Fitchburg to Worcester region as well as the Putnam Connecticut
area over the next few hours.
