... High Wind Warning in effect from 6 am to 10 am PST this
morning for The Headlands and beaches along the South Washington
and north Oregon coasts...

The National Weather Service in Portland has issued a High Wind
Warning... which is in effect from 6 am to 10 am PST this morning.

A brief period of very strong south winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts
to near 60 mph are expected this morning at the beaches and
coastal headlands of the South Washington and north Oregon coasts.
These winds will be produced ahead of a strong Pacific cold front.

The winds are expected to decrease by 10 am once the cold front
moves onshore.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts
of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.

Rain this morning...then showers. A chance of thunderstorms...that may produce small hail. Highs around 55. Strong south wind 30 to 40 mph with gusts to 60 mph near coastal headlands and beaches...and 15 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph in coastal communities...becoming southwest 10 to 20 mph by the afternoon.
