Special Weather Statement
Statement as of 2:07 am PDT on May 12, 2008

... Unseasonably hot temperatures expected for much of the region beginning
Thursday...

An area of high pressure located off the California coast will
gradually strengthen Tuesday and Wednesday. The center of the
high will move closer to Oregon Thursday and Friday as it
strengthens further. Significant warming will begin around most
of the region Wednesday... then record high temperatures are
likely at a number of locations Thursday and Friday.

The current record high temperatures for Medford and Klamath Falls...

Thursday may 15th... Medford 96 2006 Klamath Falls 84 2006
Friday may 16th... ..Medford 93 1973 Klamath Falls 87 2006
Saturday may 17th... Medford 97 2006 Klamath Falls 87 2006

The latest long range forecast models do show the strong high
pressure beginning to weaken Sunday... so the spell of hot weather
should be short lived.
