Air Stagnation Advisory
Statement as of 6:57 am PST on December 3, 2008

... Air stagnation advisory remains in effect until 12 PM PST
Saturday...

An air stagnation advisory remains in effect until 12 PM PST
Saturday.

Winds will remain light through the week as a temperature
inversion hangs over the valleys. While most areas will break out
of the fog and low clouds both Wednesday and Thursday
afternoons... the inversion will still be in place leading to very
limited vertical mixing of the valley airmass. Thus... atmospheric
conditions will remain in place that will trap smoke and other
particulates and pollutants in the valleys of Klamath... Jackson
and Josephine counties through Saturday morning.

An air stagnation advisory indicates that due to limited movement
of an airmass across the advisory area... pollution will increase.
