... Frost advisory in effect from 5 am to 9 am PDT Sunday for the Coast
Range of northwest Oregon... central Coast Range of western Oregon...
lower Columbia... greater Portland Metro area... central Willamette
Valley... south Willamette Valley... western Columbia River gorge... Willapa

... Frost advisory for this morning is cancelled...

The National Weather Service in Portland has issued a frost
advisory... which is in effect from 5 am to 9 am PDT Sunday. The
frost advisory for this morning has been cancelled.

The coldest low temperatures of the early autumn season are
expected across southwest Washington and northwest Oregon this
weekend. The cold minimum temperatures are the result of a cold
weather system that moved south out of the Gulf of Alaska into the
region.

Morning minimum temperatures today were in the lower to mid 30s
over the majority of the area. With clearing skies today and
continuing overnight tonight... temperatures are expected to drop
to near freezing levels again Sunday morning. Morning minimum
temperatures Sunday are likely to match those values from this
morning and may even fall further... with some upper 20s possible in
outlying areas away from cities. Many locations are expected to
see the first frost of the fall season.

Be sure to protect any tender or vulnerable plants from the near
freezing temperatures. A frost advisory means that frost is
possible. Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left
uncovered.
