High Surf Advisory
Statement as of 2:59 am PST on November 8, 2009

... High surf advisory in effect until 4 PM PST this afternoon...
... High surf warning is cancelled...

The National Weather Service in Medford has issued a high surf
advisory... which is in effect until 4 PM PST this afternoon. The
high surf warning has been cancelled.

West northwest swell of 20 feet will slowly subside to 15 feet
late this afternoon. This swell will cause breaker heights as
high as 27 feet this morning... subsiding to near 20 feet yb late
this afternoon.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A high surf warning indicates that dangerous... battering waves
will pound the shoreline. This will result in very dangerous
swimming conditions... and deadly rip currents. Avoid jetties and
other exposed structures as these will likely be regularly
inundated by the heavy surf.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area... producing rip currents and localized beach
erosion. Avoid going onto jetties as sneaker waves can wash over
them at any time.
