A heat advisory remains in effect until 9 PM CDT Sunday.

A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. Hot temperatures and high humidities will combine to
create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Drink
plenty of water... stay in an air-conditioned room... stay out of
the sun... and check up on relatives and neighbors.

... Fire Weather Watch in effect from Saturday morning through
Saturday evening...

The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a Fire Weather
Watch... which is in effect from Saturday morning through Saturday
evening.

Temperatures will rise quickly Saturday morning and are forecast
to rise above 100 by late in the morning... topping out in the 105
to 110 range. These temperatures along with relative humidities
dropping below 20 percent... dry vegetation and the possibility of
gusty southwest winds will have the potential to create favorable
conditions for the start and spread of wildfires on Saturday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible
red flag warnings.

regional weather discussion... a few showers and isolated thunderstorms will be possible across far northwest Oklahoma late this afternoon. At 630 PM...showers and a few thunderstorms were located across far northwest Oklahoma. This activity and will move east and northeast across areas mainly north of Rosston to Buffalo to Freedom line. Brief moderate rain... gusty winds in excess of 40 mph and lightning will accompany the stronger storms. Otherwise very hot conditions can be expected this afternoon with temperatures running from near 110 degrees in far northwest Oklahoma to the middle and upper 90s in far southeast Oklahoma. Most locations were also seeing heat indices between 100 and 110 degrees with a south to southwest wind.
