regional weather discussion... At noon...a strong cold front had cleared most of the region...and was just moving through far southeast Oklahoma from Atoka to Durant. The temperature difference across the front was dramatic...with observations approaching 70 degrees around Durant...and holding steady near 35 degrees around Woodward. The rest of the region behind the front reported temperatures in the 40s. Wind chills will continue at about 10 degrees colder than the air temperature this afternoon. Brisk north winds will average 30 to 40 mph to the northwest of a line from Stillwater to Chickasha to Wichita Falls. Peak gusts will remain near 45 mph for much of that region...but gusts in excess of 50 mph will continue through about 1 PM at some of the more exposed locations in western and central Oklahoma.
