... High surf advisory remains in effect until 6 PM EDT this
afternoon...

A high surf advisory remains in effect until 6 PM EDT this
afternoon.

While the Summer-like weather and high surf will draw people to
the South Shore beaches... high surf on the ocean in the wake of
Tropical Storm Hanna will cause beach erosion and strong rip
currents through the day.

The surf will be extremely dangerous and even venturing into the
surf a few feet could result in disaster. Beach goers should stay
completely out of the water!

Some beach erosion is also occurring.

A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area... producing rip currents and localized beach
erosion.
