Freeze Warning
Statement as of 4:45 am EDT on October 7, 2008

... Freeze warning remains in effect until 9 am EDT this morning...

A freeze warning remains in effect for the Lake George Saratoga
region... Mohawk Valley... northern and southeast
Catskills... Taconics and southern Berkshires... until 9 am EDT this
morning.

The combination of light to calm winds... mainly clear skies... and
a chilly air mass in place across the region allowed temperatures to
fall into the mid 20s to lower 30s early this morning which has
resulted in widespread frost... bringing the growing season to an
end.

A freeze warning means sub freezing temperatures are imminent or
highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other
sensitive vegetation.
