... Wind Advisory remains in effect until midnight PDT /midnight
MST/ tonight...

A Wind Advisory remains in effect until midnight PDT /midnight
MST/ tonight for the northwest plateau... northwest
deserts... Mojave Desert... northeast and southern Clark County.

West to southwest winds gusting up to 50 mph are expected over a
large portion of the Mojave Desert this afternoon and evening.
These winds will raise areas of blowing dust and make travel
difficult on interstates 15 and 40... as well as highways 93...
95... 395 and 62.

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 30 to 39 mph and... or wind
gusts of 40 to 57 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make
driving difficult... especially for high profile vehicles. Use
extra caution.

Fire Weather Warning
Statement as of 6:36 PM MST on October 10, 2008/

... Red flag warning remains in effect until 10 PM PDT /10 PM MST/
this evening...

A red flag warning remains in effect until 10 PM PDT /10 PM MST/
this evening.

An approaching storm system will bring west to southwest winds
gusting over 40 mph to much of the warned area this afternoon and
evening. Relative humidities are expected to be below 15 percent
for much of that time as well.

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring or are imminent. A combination of strong
winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures will create
extreme fire growth potential.
