| Now Isolated showers and thunderstorms will gradually lessen in intensity and areal coverage through the rest of the evening across the central mountains and adjacent High Plains. Most of the decaying storms will still be capable of producing occasional cloud to ground lightning strikes...gusts up to 40 mph and brief heavy rain with hourly rainfall rates up to a quarter of an inch per hour. One particular strong storm will continue to affect the area between Raton and Des Moines and will produce half inch hourly rainfall rates as well as frequent cloud to ground lightning. Storm movement will tend to be erratic and speed will be less than 6 mph. |
