| Now Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will continue to race northeast at 40 to 45 mph across the Sangre de Cristo Mountains as well as the northeast and east Central Plains through the morning and beyond. Through 10 am MDT the greatest concentration of rain will most likely be across the northeast and east Central Plains. The stronger thunderstorms will be capable of producing gusty winds between 35 and 50 mph...small hail and a few lightning strikes. Stronger storms are more likely this afternoon. A few areas that will be impacted by the activity include Eagle Nest...Cowles...Las Vegas...Roy...Conchas Lake...Raton and Clayton. Through 10 am expect rainfall amounts of one tenth to one quarter of an inch...but locally between a third and a half inch in the thunderstorms. |
