Coastal Flood Statement
Statement as of 10:54 PM EDT on May 9, 2008

... Localized minor tidal flooding is possible during the overnight
hours along the New Jersey and northern Delaware ocean front and
in the adjacent back bays...

The onshore flow associated with the storm on Friday was
lingering this Friday night. Since tides were still above normal,
there could be spotty minor tidal flooding around the time of
high tide. High tide on the ocean front runs through about 1:00
am early Saturday morning, and high tide on the back bays is up
to a couple of hours later.

Area residents and visitors to shore areas are advised to move
their vehicles away from flood-prone locations, and avoid driving
on roads that easily flood during times of minor tidal flooding.

As the area of low pressure which gave US some heavy rain over the
past 24 hours pulls away, the threat of any minor tidal flooding
should lessen for the next high tide cycle around midday Saturday.
