southeastern Craven County in eastern North Carolina...
this includes the city of Havelock...
southeastern Jones County in eastern North Carolina...
northeastern Onslow County in eastern North Carolina...

* until 730 PM EDT

* at 645 PM EDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a
severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado near
Maysville... or about 8 miles northeast of Pumpkin Center... moving
east at 40 mph.

* The tornado will be near...
Catfish Lake and Great Lake by 700 PM EDT...
Croatan... Riverdale... Long Lake and Little Lake by 705 PM EDT...
Neuse Forest... Cherry Point air station and Havelock by 710 PM
EDT...
Cherry Branch by 715 PM EDT...

The safest place to be during a tornado is in a basement. Get under a
workbench or other piece of sturdy furniture. If no basement is
available... seek shelter on the lowest floor of the building in an
interior hallway or room such as a closet. Use blankets or pillows to
cover your body and always stay away from windows.

If in Mobile homes or vehicles... evacuate them and get inside a
substantial shelter. If no shelter is available... lie flat in the
nearest ditch or other low spot and cover your head with your hands.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT Sunday evening
for eastern North Carolina.
