Winter Storm Warning
Statement as of 3:22 PM MDT on October 10, 2008

... Winter Storm Warning in effect from 6 PM Saturday to 6 am MDT
Monday...

The National Weather Service in Glasgow has upgraded the Winter
Storm Watch to a Winter Storm Warning... which is in effect from 6 PM
Saturday to 6 am MDT Monday.

Snow will develop and increase in intensity north of the Missouri
River Saturday night and continue into Sunday night with
accumulations of 6 to 12 inches... with locally higher amounts. A
north wind of 15 to 25 mph will create blowing and drifting of
snow Saturday night and Sunday.

Impacts from this storm will be: heavy wet snow accumulating on
trees that have yet to lose their leaves... hazardous driving
conditions with lowered visibilities at times... and possible
impacts to the agricultural community. Persons are advised to take
actions to mitigate these and any other hazards that will come
about due to this early season snow storm.

Heavy snow and blowing snow will make travel difficult and
hazardous this weekend. Plan now to avoid travel across northeast
Montana this weekend.

Hunters planning on going out this weekend are advised to take
precautions to weather the storm... or even reconsider their
plans.

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow...
sleet... and ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also
possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
