Wind Chill Advisory


... Wind Chill Advisory in effect until 9 PM MST this evening...

The National Weather Service in Glasgow has issued a Wind Chill
Advisory... which is in effect until 9 PM MST this evening.

* Northwest winds of 10 mph along with continued below average
temperatures will produce hazardous wind chills this evening.

* Wind chill values: 20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees below
zero.

* Timing: wind chills will continue to drop in the evening before
sunset. The winds will then die down to less then 7 mph by 9 PM.
However temperatures will continue to be very cold through the
night.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Chill Advisory means that very cold air and strong winds
will combine to generate low wind chills. This will result in
frost bite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
Wind chills of 20 to 40 below can cause frostbite within
30 minutes.
