128 PM CDT Thu Sep 4 2008

... The Flood Warning remains in effect until 1000 am CDT Friday for
small streams and low water crossings across the Missouri Ozarks and
extreme southeast Kansas.

The Department of Transportation and law enforcement indicated
flooding was occurring on some small streams and low water
crossings. For details on State Road closings go to the Missouri
Department of Transportation website.

The latest stream gage data indicates many streams were near crest
and beginning to fall.

While additional rainfall is not expected... runoff from heavy
rainfall that has fallen since Wednesday will cause flooding of
some small streams and low water crossings through tonight.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to travel across
flooded roads. Find alternate routes. It only takes a few inches of
swiftly flowing water to carry vehicles away.
