Dense Fog Advisory
Statement as of 3:30 am CDT on July 9, 2008

... Dense fog advisory in effect until 9 am CDT this morning...

The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill has issued a dense
fog advisory... which is in effect until 9 am CDT this morning.

Recent rainfall along with light winds and clear skies have allowed
dense fog to form across much of the advisory area. Dense
fog... currently patchy in nature... will continue to develop and
become more widespread during the next two and three hours. Visibilities may be
reduced under one quarter of a mile at times... leading to potentially
hazardous driving conditions for the morning commute. Visibilities
will slowly begin to improve towards and after the sun rises.

A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving... slow down...
use your low beam headlights... and leave plenty of distance ahead
of you.

Forecast as of 2:50 am CDT on July 9, 2008

Now
Clear skies and saturated grounds will continue to create patchy dense fog across portions of eastern Kansas and northern Missouri through daybreak. Visibilities may be reduced below one half mile at times...with thicker fog possible in valleys and near water sources. Fog is expected to lift shortly after daybreak. Those traveling this morning should exercise additional caution.
