heaviest rain will occur tonight. Intermittent rain will end from
southwest to northeast Monday afternoon. Two to three inches of
rain will fall on top of saturated soils. Locally higher amounts
will be possible along the eastern slopes of the Blue Ridge.

* The heavy rain may cause streams and creeks to overflow their
banks. Also... urban areas prone to poor drainage will be
susceptible to flooding. As the water works its way into the
rivers Monday... river flooding will be possible.

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.

... Coastal flood advisory remains in effect until 10 am EDT
Monday...

A strong storm system approaching from the Midwest is forecast to
track east into the mid Atlantic region tonight. Southeasterly
winds will increase as a result... allowing water level departures
to climb 1 to 2 feet above astronomical tide on the western shore
of the Chesapeake Bay. This may cause minor or nuisance coastal
flooding around times of high tide into Monday morning.

Here are the times of the next high tides
for a few locations from north to south...
on the Chesapeake Bay...
Havre de Grace... 3:47 PM and 4:19 am...
Bowley Bar... 1:57 am and 2:27 PM...
Fort McHenry Baltimore... 1:06 am and 1:36 PM...
