of torrential rain and numerous thunderstorms off the New Jersey
coast. This area was moving rapidly northward at 45 mph toward
western portions of southern New England.

Rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour are likely with this area.
The heavy rain will be in the Hartford and Springfield metropolitan
areas during the morning commute... so motorists should slow down and
exercise caution.

Never drive into areas where water covers the roadway. Flood waters
are usually deeper than they appear. When encountering flooding roads
make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.

Heavy rain will cause ponding of water on highways... roads and
underpasses as well as other poor drainage areas. Rises will occur on
creeks and small streams and may result in minor flooding of low
lying areas along their banks.
