MA... southeast Middlesex MA... southern Bristol MA... southern
Plymouth MA... Suffolk MA... western Essex MA... western Norfolk
MA and western Plymouth MA. In Rhode Island... Bristol RI and
Newport RI.

* Until 2 am EDT Friday

* tropical moisture ahead of an approaching cold front continues
to bring numerous showers and thunderstorms to our region.
Some thunderstorms may bring localized heavy downpours of 1 to
3 inches in one hour. As a result... the threat of flooding
still exists.

* Drier... more stable air will begin to work its way eastward into
the North Shore and Boston Metro area toward midnight. However...
this drier air will take a bit longer to reach the South Shore.

southeastern Plymouth County in southeast Massachusetts...

* until 100 am EDT

* at 705 PM EDT radar indicated that showers and thunderstorms
continued to track through the Newport... to Fall River... to New
Bedford area. A few locations will receive around one inch of rain
between 7 and 9 PM. This rain will produce ponding of water in low
lying and poor drainage areas... particularly in urban locations.
