The Flood Warning continues for
the Amite river at French Settlement.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 7:30 PM Saturday the stage was 4.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 4.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will crest around 5.O feet by late tonight
then fall to near flood stage by late Sunday night. The river may
remain near flood stage well into Monday due to tidal fluctuations
and lake levels in Lake Maurepas.
* Impact... at 5.0 feet... Louisiana trace will be impassable. Highwater
Road at Louisiana Highway 16 may be impassable. Persistant east to
southeast wind and high tides on Lake Maurepas will maintain High
River stages

... Flood Warning extended until Sunday evening... the Flood Warning
continues for

the Amite river at Port Vincent.
* Until Sunday evening... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 7:15 PM Saturday the stage was 9.6 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river has already crested and will fall below
flood stage by tomorrow afternoon.
* Impact... at 10.0 feet... increased flow and strong current will
affect river traffic. Grays Creek and the Main Channel of the Amite
will merge and Saint Amant Swamp will be inundated. Streets will
flood in Port Vincent. There will be minor flooding of residential
areas

The Flood Warning continues for
The Bayou Manchac near Little Prairie.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 7:30 PM Saturday the stage was 12.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* The river has already crested and will fall below flood stage by
late tomorrow evening.
* Impact... at 12.0 feet... water will cover Oak Harbor Road. Moderate
flooding of some homes along Oak Harbor Road can be expected. Muddy
Creek will back up and flood property along Muddy Creek Road
