Dense Fog Advisory
Statement as of 2:45 am EDT on September 7, 2008

... Dense fog advisory in effect until 10 am EDT this morning...

The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a dense fog
advisory... which is in effect until 10 am EDT this morning.

Areas of fog have formed and thickened throughout far southeast
Kentucky. This fog is becoming dense in valley locations and that
thicker fog should spread into the rest of the area during the pre-
dawn hours. The densest fog... with visibility at times down to a
hundred feet or less... will be found in the valley locations...
especially in locations that saw rain on Saturday. This dense fog
will be patchy in nature... so drivers can expect the visibility to
chance rapidly in a very short distance. Care should be taken when
driving in ares of dense fog. The fog should lift and burn off
by 10 am EDT... Sunday morning.

A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. Motorists are urged to
slow down... use low beams... and to leave plenty of distance ahead
of you.
