... Flood Watch remains in effect through Friday evening...

The Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of west central Florida... including the following
areas... Citrus... Hernando... Levy and Sumter.

* Through Friday evening

* Tropical Storm Fay is forecast to move slowly west across North
Florida through Friday night. Rain bands associated with the
storm will produce widespread heavy rains and localized
flooding. Rainfall totals of 4 to 8 inches are expected with
locally higher amounts possible where the heaviest rain bands
persist the longest.

* Residents... particularly those in flood prone areas... as well
as those living near small streams and creeks... should be
prepared to move to higher ground.

A Flood Watch means that flooding is possible during the next
24 to 36 hours. Residents living in flood prone areas should take
action to protect property.

... Wind Advisory in effect until 8 PM EDT Friday...

The National Weather Service in Tampa Bay area - Ruskin FL has
issued a Wind Advisory... which is in effect until 8 PM EDT
Friday.

Northerly winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 45 mph are occurring
in a large rain band on the west side of Tropical Storm Fay. These
winds will continue to affect Levy... Citrus... Sumter and Hernando
counties through the night. As Fay begins to pass north of the
area on Friday... winds will shift to the west... then southwest and
continue at 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph through Friday.

A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds are forecast to be
30 to 39 mph or frequent gusts will range between 40 and 57 mph.

Rain bands from Tropical Storm Fay are moving rapidly from Levy and Citrus counties toward the southeast across Sumter... Hernando...and Pasco counties...and also northern Polk County. Heavy downpours and strong gusty winds to 30 to 40 mph will occur. Expect periods of rain and minor flooding of low lying and poor drainage areas.
