Wind Advisory
Statement as of 3:44 am EST on November 9, 2009

... Wind Advisory in effect until 3 PM EST this afternoon...

The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a Wind
Advisory... which is in effect until 3 PM EST this afternoon.

Sustained east winds of around 25 mph with frequent gusts of 35
to 40 mph are expected across the area today. The windiest
conditions will occur after sunrise this morning through early
this afternoon.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 30 mph or higher or
frequent gusts of 35 mph or higher are expected. Winds this
strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile
vehicles. Use extra caution. Make sure to secure loose objects as
they can be blown around by winds this strong.

Forecast as of 5:43 am EST on November 9, 2009

Now
Widely scattered showers will continue to quickly pass westward across the local Atlantic waters and across the Atlantic coastal zone. The showers are currently affecting the Atlantic waters east of Broward and Palm Beach counties. These showers will move westward near 30 mph and produce brief showers with wind gusts to near 40 mph possible. The showers will pass across the coastal zone near Pompano Beach northward to near West Palm Beach...and will begin to dissipate as they move across the peninsula.
