Coastal Flood Warning
Statement as of 11:34 am EDT on May 12, 2008

... Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 8 am EDT
Tuesday...

A coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 8 am EDT Tuesday.

The tide will continue to build up the Delaware Bay and Delaware
River this afternoon and continue getting higher through tonight.
The tidal level could reach moderate levels over the next 24
hours at the times of high tide.

This will impact the peak times for commuting again this evening.
Please do not park your car in the vulnerable flood areas adjacent
to the Delaware River and never drive through flooded streets.

The following are times of high tide and water level forecasts...
referenced to mean lower low water... for points along the
Delaware river:

For Philadelphia... the next high tide occurs at 9:06 PM tonight
and is forecast to be around 9.0 feet above MLLW. High tide
Tuesday morning occurs at 9:23 am and is forecast to be around 9.0
feet above MLLW.

For Breakwater Harbor Delaware... the next high tide will be at
3:52 PM this afternoon with a forecast near 7.5 to 8.0 feet above
MLLW. High tide is again at 4:13 am Tuesday with a forecast at 7.5
to 8.0 feet above MLLW... and 4:56 PM Tuesday with a forecast at
6.5 feet above MLLW.

A coastal Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent. Persons
living along the Delaware River adjacent to tributaries and
roadways should be alert for rising water... and take appropriate
action to protect life and property.

Wind Advisory
Statement as of 10:25 am EDT on May 12, 2008

... Wind Advisory remains in effect until 4 PM EDT this
afternoon...

A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 4 PM EDT this afternoon.

Strong low pressure organizing southeast of the Delmarva
Peninsula will strengthen a bit more and then lift northeast
today. Wind wind gusts in excess of 45 mph have occurred and are
expected to continue as the low strengthens and then lifts
northeast. Winds of this strength could bring down some trees and
some power lines... especially in any areas where the ground is
saturated.

The Wind Advisory might need to be extended later into this
afternoon and into early this evening along coastal areas pending
on how quickly this low pressure system moves offshore.

A Wind Advisory means that wind gusts in excess of 45 mph are
expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult...
especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
