Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 4:05 am MDT on October 11, 2008

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 3 PM this afternoon to
6 am MDT Sunday...

The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a
Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow... which is in
effect from 3 PM this afternoon to 6 am MDT Sunday.

Snow will develop this afternoon and is expected to bring 4 to 8
inches of new snow with locally higher amounts by late early
Sunday morning. In addition... strong south winds ranging from 20
to 30 mph with occasional gusts to 50 mph will generate widespread
blowing and drifting snow. The winds will shift around to the
west and decrease in speeds this evening after a cold front pushes
through.

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
