Fire Weather Warning
Statement as of 3:03 PM MDT on May 11, 2008

... Red flag warning in effect from 11 am to 7 PM MDT Monday for
the southwest Colorado fire zone 207 below 7000 feet for strong
gusty winds and low humidity...

The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a red
flag warning... which is in effect from 11 am to 7 PM MDT
Monday... for the southwest Colorado fire zone 207 below 7000 feet.
This warning is for strong gusty winds and low humidity.

The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

Southwest winds will begin strengthening late Monday morning and
then persist throughout the afternoon. Southwest winds 15 to 20 mph and
gusts up to 40 mph... will combine with relative humidity of 5 to
12 percent to create the potential for explosive fire growth
Monday afternoon. This is ahead of a strong cold front that should move
through The Four Corners area early Monday evening.

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or will shortly.
