Frost Advisory
Statement as of 9:09 am PDT on October 11, 2008

... Frost advisory remains in effect from 3 am to 8 am PDT
Sunday...

A frost advisory remains in effect from 3 am to 8 am PDT Sunday.

A cold airmass will combine with light winds Sunday morning to
drop temperatures over much of the Salinas and North Bay valleys
into the 30s. The greatest risk for temperatures to drop to near
freezing will be in any sheltered locations especially in
southern Salinas valley and southern Napa County near the Napa
County Airport.

A frost advisory means that frost is possible. Sensitive outdoor
plants may be killed if left uncovered. Action should be taken to
protect plants and animals sensitive to cold temperatures.

Special Weather Statement
Statement as of 5:50 am PDT on October 11, 2008

... Frost is possible Sunday and Monday mornings...

A cold airmass overhead will combine with lower wind speeds and
clear skies on Sunday and Monday nights. This combination will
likely produce patchy frost over portions of the North
Bay... Hollister... and Salinas valleys. Areas that are sheltered
will be particularly susceptible and will likely drop down into
the lower to mid 30s. At this time... the southern Salinas valley
along with areas near the Napa County Airport appear the most
likely to have temperatures drop to around the freezing level.
Another round of cool temperatures is also anticipated for Monday
morning. Persons who have plants that are sensitive to cold
weather and frost should take the proper precautions. Warmer
weather is forecast starting Tuesday morning.
