Special Weather Statement
Statement as of 6:03 am PDT on July 5, 2008

... Excessive heat outlook for the city of San Francisco for Tuesday
through Thursday...

A strong ridge of high pressure building in from the Pacific will
result in very warm conditions in San Francisco by the middle part
of next week. Temperatures in the city will warm into the 80s on
Tuesday and could warm above 90 degrees by Wednesday. Very warm
conditions may persist in San Francisco into Thursday as well.
Heat related watches... warnings... and advisories may be issued as
the event gets closer.

Stay indoors as much as possible during the warmest part of the
day. If you have to work or plan on any recreational activities
outdoors... drink plenty of water ... wear light colored clothing
and take frequent breaks from the sun. Heat can affect
anyone. However... children... the elderly... people with medical
conditions... and those engaged in strenuous outdoor activities
will be the ones most impacted by the hot weather.
