... Occasional large breakers in the surf zone today...

With warm to hot temperatures expected today... rivers and the
ocean will offer relief from the heat. Please keep in mind a few
safety tips.

Use extreme caution when near the river. Turbulent water flow and
hidden debris... coupled with cold water temperatures can quickly
bring on a life threatening situation for anyone caught in the
grip of a strong river flow. Bring a flotation device and keep kids
well away from strong flowing water.

Long period swell waves in the ocean will produce occasional large
breakers today. Breakers as high as 12 to 14 feet will occasionally
impact the surf zone. Water may sporadically rush high onto the sand
at times today so avoid turning your back to the ocean for any
length of time when near the surf zone.
