... Record breaking heat this weekend...

Strong high pressure aloft will build over Southern California this
weekend with record highs likely in many areas. Highs will soar
above 100 in the valleys and foothills... and exceed 110 in the lower
deserts. The coolest weather will be in the mountains above 6000
feet where highs will be in the 70s and 80s. The immediate coast may
also see some relief from afternoon sea breezes and a very shallow
marine layer.

People with outdoor activities this weekend should prepare for the
unseasonably hot weather. With afternoon temperatures in the inland
areas ranging from 95 to 105 degrees and humidities in the
teens... dehydration is a real threat. Regular water Intake will help
you stay hydrated. Wear loose fitting light weight clothing... and
take advantage of shade and air conditioning.

High temperatures forecast for Saturday and Sunday

Beaches... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... .70 to 80
coastal zones... ... ... ... ... ... ... .80 (coast) to 95 (inland)

lower deserts... ... ... ... ... ... ... .103 to 113

On Monday it will remain hot and dry in the inland
valleys... mountains and deserts. However... increasing onshore flow
will bring slight cooling to the coastal zones.

weather to all areas.
