High Surf Advisory
Statement as of 1:27 PM PDT on July 18, 2008

... High surf advisory in effect from 9 PM Saturday to 2 am PDT
Tuesday...

The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a high surf
advisory... which is in effect from 9 PM Saturday to 2 am PDT
Tuesday.

Fairly large long period south swells originating from storms in
the southern hemisphere will move into the coastal waters off
Orange County over the weekend. This will bring high surf to the
beaches of Orange County late Saturday evening through Monday
night. Surf of 5 to 7 feet with larger sets to 9 feet are expected
during this period.

A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area... producing rip currents and localized beach
erosion.
