The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued an excessive heat
warning for Sunday... Monday... and Tuesday. The warning is in effect
each day for the hours between 10 am MST /10 am PDT/ and 8 PM MST /8
PM PDT/. The excessive heat watch is no longer in effect.

Record or near record highs will occur Sunday through Tuesday across
the deserts of southeast California and southwest Arizona... including
the lower Colorado River Valley. High temperatures will range from
108 to 112 degrees... which may be break current records by several
degrees. Some specific forecasts for Monday include 112 at Yuma
/record 109/... 110 at el centro /record 108/... and 111 at Blythe

It would be wise to complete as much outdoor activity as possible
in the early morning when the sun and heat are less intense. During

illness when the body can no longer cool itself.

If you plan to be outside for an extended period of time in the

possible and drink abundant amounts of water. Wear light-colored
and loose-fitting clothing. If you wear a wide-brimmed hat... your
head and body will be much cooler. Stop outdoor activities...
drink lots of water or other non-alcoholic beverages... and if
possible... spend more time in air-conditioned or well-ventilated
places.
