High Wind Warning, Wind Advisory
Statement as of 2:56 am PDT on October 12, 2008

... Wind Advisory in effect from 6 am this morning to 10 PM PDT
this evening...
... High Wind Warning in effect from 10 PM this evening to 12 PM
PDT Tuesday...

The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a High Wind
Warning... which is in effect from 10 PM this evening to 12 PM PDT
Tuesday. A Wind Advisory has also been issued. This Wind Advisory
is in effect from 6 am this morning to 10 PM PDT this evening.

Through this evening... areas of north to northeast winds 15 to 25
mph with gusts to 50 mph below Cajon Pass at times. Strong wind
gusts will cause areas of blowing dust with local visibilities
less than one quarter mile at times.

For late tonight through Tuesday morning... areas of north to
northeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 60 mph below Cajon
Pass. Winds are expected to be strongest and most widespread late
tonight through early Monday afternoon... and again late Monday
night through mid morning Tuesday. Strong wind gusts will cause
areas of blowing dust with local visibilities less than one
quarter mile at times.

The winds will make driving difficult... especially for motorists
with high profile vehicles. Areas of blowing dust could reduce
visibility to near zero. Watch for broken tree limbs and downed
power lines.

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts
of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

Fire Weather Warning
Statement as of 3:45 am PDT on October 12, 2008

... Red flag warning in effect from 10 am this morning to 6 PM PDT
Tuesday for relative humidities below 15 percent and wind gusts
greater than 35 mph...

The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a red flag
warning... which is in effect from 10 am this morning to 6 PM PDT
Tuesday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

Areas of northeast winds 20 to 30 mph developing this morning with
gusts to 50 mph through and below passes and canyons. Relative
humidities will fall below 15 percent by late morning and below 10
percent in the afternoon. Slight recovery of humidities tonight.

Winds will strengthen tonight through early Monday afternoon with
widespread northeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 60 mph
through and below passes and canyons. Another round of stronger
winds for late Monday night through Tuesday morning with gusts to
55 mph through and below passes and canysons. Lowest daytime
humidities below 10 percent with only minor nighttime recovery to
15 to 25 percent.

For midweek... warm and dry but with weaker winds.

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures will
create explosive fire growth potential.
